You will be picked up
at the airport and tranfer to the hotel in Hanoi.
After lunch we visit
the John McCain Monument, Army Museum,
Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh's house. We
visit the Marine House, home of the Marine Security
Guard's for the American Embassy. After our Welcome
Dinner you are free to roam the streets of Hanoi for
shopping.

Day 2: Hanoi –
Danang – Hoian
We depart Noi Bai International Airport at
6:00AM on Vietnam Airlines for a short flight to Da
Nang arriving at 7:10AM. On
arrival we proceed south to Marble Mountain where
we climb the mountain for a spectacular view of the Da
Nang Area and tour the Viet Cong Hospital deep
within the mountain. After our tour of Marble
Mountain we have lunch and visit the woodworking and
silk shops. After dinner you are free to roam the
streets of historic Hoi An.

Day 3: Hoian – Que
Son Moutains:
Early morning departure
south along Highway One stopping at LZ Baldy and LZ
Ross then over the pass in the Que Son Mountains
to Antenna Valley the site where Lt Al Graff and his
pilot Capt Jerry Zimmer where lost on August 29,
1969. Today will be a full day in the field as we climb
through difficult terrain to the loss site. We return
to Hoi An in the evening.

Day 4: Hoian – Hue
We begin our
exploration of the My Son Holy land and then
north along Highway 1 through the City of Da Nang, Red
Beach, site of the initial landings in March 1965 by the
9th Marines, Nam "O" Bridge, ESSO Plant, through the Hai
Van Pass to Lang Co then north to Hue. On arrival
in Hue we re-trace the
movements of 1st Battalion 1st Marines and 2d
Battalion 5th Marines during the Battle for Hue in
February 1968. After lunch we explore the shops
along Lei
Loi Street in Hue

Day 5: Hue- Dong Ha
Early morning departure
north on Highway One through Quang Tri, Dong Ha,
Route 9 west to Cam Lo, north to Con Thien, The Wash Out
and across the Peace Bridge on the Ben Hai River separating
the two Vietnams at the DMZ. We proceed further
north and explore the tunnels at Vinh Moc. We
drive south along Highway One lunching along the beach
fronting the South China Sea on
our way back to Dong Ha. We cross the Bridge
at Dong Ha, which played a major role in the 1972
NVA Easter Offensive, to our hotel.

Day 6: Dong Ha – Khe
Sanh – Hue
Early morning departure
along Route 9 through Cam Lo, Camp Carroll, The
Rockpile, Razorback, LZ Stud (Vandergrift Combat
Base), Ca Lu, Da Krong Bridge, The Hairpin, Bru Village at
the entrance to the A Shau with lunch in Khe
Sanh Village. After lunch we explore the old
Combat Base at Khe Sanh, the Special Forces at Lang Vei
and Lao Bao on the Laotian Border. We depart in
mid-afternoon returning to Hue via
the Ho Chi Minh Trail down through the A Shau.

Day 7: Hue city
tour
After breakfast we
begin a cruise up the Perfume River to the
Thien Mu Pagoda and the Nguyen Dynasty Tombs. We
retrace our voyage back down the river for lunch in Hue. After
lunch we tour the Forbidden City and the Citadel. We
also retrace the movements of 1st Battalion 5th
Marines during the Battle of
Phase Lines in February 1968.

Day 8: Hue –
Danang – Nha Trang
After a leisurely
morning in Hue we head
south to Da Nang for our
14:10 PM flight to Cam Ranh International Airport (formerly
a military airfield). Arriving at 15:30 PM we will
board our bus and head north along the new Cu Hin Pass
to Nha Trang. Arriving in Nha Trang, we check into our
hotel

Day 9: Nha Trang
Today is reserved for
exploring around Nha Trang. We make a short drive up
Highway 1 to Ninh Hoa, after which we continue north to
visit Tuy Hoa. We return to Nha Trang for the night.
Day 10: Nha Trang – Saigon
After breakfast, we
head south on Highway 1 to Cam Ranh International Airport for
our flight to Saigon. Upon
arriving in Saigon, we will have lunch, check into our
hotel and then enjoy a half-day city tour of Saigon before
we rejoin the main tour group in late afternoon
Day 11: Saigon –
Departure.
At leisure till
transfer to the departure flight.
